Community Questions - Baby Milestones!

Having received a large amount of questions about baby milestones, we thought we would add them all into one place!

1. When do babies start to smile?

Babies typically start to smile in response to stimuli, such as seeing a familiar face or hearing a soothing voice, around 6 to 8 weeks of age. However, every baby is different, so don't worry if your little one takes a bit longer to show off their adorable smile.

2. When do babies start sitting up? What about rolling over?

Babies usually start sitting up with support around 4 to 7 months of age, and they may begin sitting independently between 6 to 9 months. Rolling over typically occurs around 4 to 6 months, although some babies may achieve this milestone earlier or later.

3. When do babies start to crawl?

Babies typically begin crawling between 6 to 10 months of age, but again, every baby develops at their own pace. Some babies may opt for alternative methods of locomotion, such as scooting or bottom shuffling, before mastering traditional crawling.

4. When do babies start to walk?

Most babies take their first steps between 9 to 12 months of age, although some may start walking as early as 8 months or as late as 18 months. Remember, it's important to encourage your baby's motor skills development through tummy time, playtime, and gentle support as they build strength and coordination.

5. When do babies start to talk?

Babies typically begin babbling and cooing as early as 3 to 4 months of age, and they may start saying simple words like "mama" or "dada" around 6 to 9 months. However, it's important to note that language development varies widely among babies, and some may not start talking until closer to their first birthday. Encourage language development by talking, reading, and singing to your baby regularly.

Please remember that every baby is different and may hit different milestones at different times!
